General Licensing Objectives
Following an assessment of the premises and its surrounding area the following is proposed:
30 minute "drinking up" time will allow appropriate dispersal, use of lavatories etc.
In order to further the licensing objectives the licensee reserves the right to move the fire appliances, AWP machines, cigarette machines and or any other similar objects temporarily in a fixed location which may impact on the ability of individuals on the premises to use exits or escape routes without impediment.
The prevention of crime and disorder objectives
Illumination is provide to the exterior areas of the pub, accessible to the public. The majority of customers are local residents and are known to the licensee. Toilets are checked regularly. The licensee /staff monitor cuystomer behaviour especially during busy periods. All doors and windows are secure. There are always a minimum of two staff on duty at any one time. A large selection of non-alcoholic drinks are available for drivers.
Public safety objectives
A Health and Safety policy is in place and is adhered to. All fire fighting eqipment is serviced annually and there is a contract in place with Nimrod. Mechanical extraction is provided including 2 smoke filters. A pest control contract is in place with Country Services. The pub has first aid facilities. The licensee holds a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
The prevention of public nuisance objectives
When required, staff organise taxis to transport customers home and customers are seen off the premises and encouraged to dispersal at closing. Being a detatched property there are no adjoining neighbours. The absense of Sky television eliminates the potential for noise and boisterous behavior often created by televised sporting events. The pub does not have any aggressive drinks promotion, e.g. 2-4-1s. The pub is a traditional country pub and most of the customers are mature locals. There are no fast food outlets in the vicinity, therefore ther islimited loitering around the pub.
The protection of children from harm objectives.
Unaccompanied children are not allowed in the bar under any circumstances. The pub does not have any AWP`s, pool tables or juke boxes. The pub has a childrens menu and suitable soft drinks are on offer to promote a family atmosphere. The pub does not sell "alcopops".
