ANNEX 2 - LICENSING OBJECTIVES
THE PREVENTION OF CRIME AND DISORDER OBJECTIVES
All applications for membership will remain subject to close scrutiny. Members who are proposing people for membership have to provide the committee member with a character reference for the applicant. Only if this is satisfactory and no committee member has any reason to refuse the application is the applicant considered suitable for membership.
Members who are essentially self policing in that the general public are not permitted apart from when calling in for directions for example. Applicants for membership are asked to provide their date of birth with their application. Any members/guests who cause disturbance whilst on the on the premises are asked to leave and they may be subject to a subsequent ban from the premises.
All bar staff are expected to request and receive proof of age from any person they suspect may not be 18 years of age. Further they have a right to refuse to serve any person who they consider to be under the influence of alcohol.
PUBLIC SAFETY OBJECTIVES
The Club will continue to ensure that statutory requirements as regards fire, health and safety, disabled access, etc are adhered to. A service agreement covering the Fire safety appliances is in place and this will continue.
Regular testing of emergency lighting within the premises takes place. This is to ensure that people can be evacuated safely.
A fully stocked First Aid box remains on the premises at all times.
THE PREVENTION OF PUBLIC NUISANCE OBJECTIVES
The location of the Club is such that although it is situated reasonably close to residential properties, it is considered to be far enough from them as to not cause a nuisance. At the end of the evening people exit at the rear of the property away from the public highway. This is where cars are parked. Members respect the neighbours, have a good relationship with them and act accordingly, keeping noise to a minimum.
When musical entertainment is provided we ensure that windows remain closed in order to limit the impact on local residents. Bar staff are instructed to encourage members to vacate and leave the site in a quiet and orderly fashion.
Cellar fans are located externally but these awe at least 30 metres from the nearest resident's property and are not audible to them.
Whilst the Club has a front beer garden this is normally vacated prior to darkness falling. We do not permit people to drink in the garden late into the evening as the front door will be closed in advance.
THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN FROM HARM OBJECTIVES
The Club will ensure that should there be any activities of an adult related nature, children will not be present at the time. We regulate the playing of fruit machines closely.
Children must be kept under adult supervision at all times.
However, we do like to encourage members under the age of 18 to join the Club as we see them as being the future of the Club as they mature. We ask all juniors under the age of 14 to be accompanied by an adult. They can use the facilities provided they show due respect to them.
