ANNEX 3 - LICENSING OBJECTIVES
General Licensing Objectives
Following an assessment of the premises and its surrounding area the following is proposed: 30 minute "drinking up" time will allow appropriate dispersal, use of lavatories etc. In order to further the licensing objectives the licensee reserves the right to move the fire appliances, AWP machines, cigarette machines and or any other similar objects temporarily in a fixed location which may impact on the ability of individuals on the premises to use exits or escape routes without impediment.
Prevention of Crime and Disorder Objectives
The exterior of the pub, including the garden area, is illuminated. The majority of customers are local residents and are known to the licensees. Toilets are checked on a regular basis. The licensees/staff monitor customer behaviour especially during busy periods. A burglar alarm system is in place. All doors and windows are secure. All downstairs windows in the main bar area are secondary and double glazed. There are always a minimum of two staff on duty at any one time. Drug prevention measures are employed. A large selection of non-alcoholic drinks are available for drivers. Toilets access is clearly visible from the bar. There are no other pubs or food establishments in the vicinity; consequently there is no loitering around the pub at any time.
Public Safety Objectives
Both licensees hold the National Licensee Certificate. A health and safety policy is in place and is adhered to. The pub is equipped with illuminated exit signs (all exits). All fire fighting equipment is serviced annually and there is a contract in place with Fire Safety Services. There is a current electric certificate in place. Mechanical extraction is provided in all areas and the main bar also contains 2 ceiling-mounted smoke filters. The pub has first aid facilities. An accident book is on site for staff and public. One licensee and 2 members of staff hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
Prevention of Public Nuisance Objectives
Customers are seen off the premises and encouraged to disperse quietly at closing. There are no fast food outlets in the vicinity, therefore there is limited loitering around the pub. Being a detached property there are no adjoining neighbours. The pub does not have any aggressive drinks promotions, e.g. 2-4-1s. The pub is traditional in nature and most of the customers are mature locals. The kitchen has an extract system in place. All downstairs windows in the main bar area are secondary and double glazed.
Protection of Children from Harm
Unaccompanied children are not allowed in the bar under any circumstances. Suitable soft drinks are on offer to promote a family atmosphere. The AWPs and cigarette machines are in direct sight of the bar servery.
