ANNEX 3 - LICENSING OBJECTIVES
General Objectives
Following an assessment of the premises and its surrounding area the following is proposed: 30 minutes "drinking up" time will allow appropriate dispersal, use of lavatories etc. In order to further the licensing objectives the licensee reserves the right to move the fire appliances and or any other similar objects temporarily in a fixed location which may impact on the ability of individuals on the premises to use exits or escape routes without impediment.
Prevention of Crime and Disorder Objectives
Illumination is provided to the exterior areas of the pub accessible to the public. The majority of customers are local residents and are known to the licensee. Toilets are checked regularly. The licensee/staff monitor customer behaviour especially during busy periods. All doors and windows are secure. There are always a minimum of two staff on duty at any one time. A large selection of non-alcoholic drinks are available for drivers.
Public Safety Objectives
A health and safety policy is in place and is adhered to. All fire fighting equipment is serviced annually and there is a contract in place with Nimrod. A pest control contract is in place with Country Services. The pub has first aid facilities. The licensee holds a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
Prevention of Public Nuisance Objectives
When required, staff organise taxis to transport customers home and customers are seen off the premises and encouraged to disperse at closing. Being a detached property there are no adjoining neighbours. The absence of Sky television eliminates the potential for noise and boisterous behaviour often created by televised sporting events. The pub does not have any aggressive drinks promotions, e.g. 2-4-1s. The pub is a traditional country pub and most of the customers are mature locals. There are no fast food outlets in the vicinity, therefore there is limited loitering around the pub.
Protection of Children from Harm Objectives
Unaccompanied children are not allowed in the bar under any circumstances. The pub does not have any AWP, pool tables or juke boxes. The pub has a children’s menu and suitable soft drinks are on offer to promote the family atmosphere. The pub does not sell "Alchopops".
