ANNEX 2 - LICENSING OBJECTIVES
General Licensing Objectives
Full and relevant staff training. Full regard to both the 1964 and 2003 Licensing Acts. Comply with any other relevant laws and regulations. Keep all stock and belongings stowed away out of public access. As licensable activities have been carried out on the site for the past 5 years with no problems we shall continue with our current policy.
Prevention of Crime and Disorder Objectives
We will not sell alcohol to a person who is drunk or who is (or appears to be) under 18 years old. The management practices in place include the full training of staff in these matters. Both the company director and designated premises supervisor have personal licences and BII Level 2 certificates.
Public Safety Objectives
As the site is a public space, there are no restrictions to access and egress. However as the application applies to markets and therefore stalls all equipment and stock will be kept in "staff only" areas. Due to limited trading hours and the fact that most sales are for the consumption off the premises, local businesses and residents should not be affected.
Prevention of Public Nuisance Objectives
There is no public entertainment on the site, so there should be no noise problems. Drinking on the premises is also a low proportion of sales (as mulled wine or cider generally) of for tasting purposes. The premises is situated in the centre of a shopping area. Premises/trading hours are during normal business hours.
Protection of Children from Harm Objectives
Approximately 90% of the premises will be used for the sale of non alcoholic items,e.g. cheese, bread, meat etc. Also most customers are aged between 20-70 and any children tend to be in a family group. Recognised identification cards will be required for 18 - 21 year olds.
