Annex 3 - Conditions from a hearing
The hours for the supply of alcohol be restricted to 0700 hours to 2300 hours, Monday- Sunday; and
The late night refreshment application at section L is removed.
As agreed with Trading Standards
1. Training
All staff engaged in the sale of alcohol on the premises shall receive the following training in age restricted sales:
All staff to be trained to challenge every individual who appears to be under 25 years of age and to refuse service where individuals cannot produce acceptable means of identification;
Induction training which must be completed and documented prior to the sale of alcohol by the staff member;
Refresher/reinforcement training at intervals of no more than six months; and
Training records will be available for inspection by a Police Officer and a Trading Standards Officer on request.
2. Refusals
All cashiers shall be trained to record refusals of sales of alcohol in a refusals register.
The register will contain:
Details of the time and date the refusal was made;
Details of the staff member refusing the sale; and
Details of the alcohol the person attempted to purchase.
This register will be available for inspection by a Police Officer and a Trading Standards Officer on request.
The licence holder is to ensure that the refusals log is properly maintained and this shall involve, but is not limited to, nominating in writing a responsible person to check it on a weekly basis.
3. Challenge
The Premises Licence Holder shall ensure that an age verification policy will apply at the premises whereby all cashiers will be trained to ask any customer attempting to purchase alcohol, who appears to be under the age of 25 years (or older if the licence holder so elects) to produce (before being sold alcohol) evidence of age.
This evidence shall be photographic, such as a passport or photographic driving licence or a PASS accredited photo card, including date of birth and a holographic mark or shall be another form of identification that complies with the age verification mandatory condition on this licence as amended from time to time.
All cashiers will be instructed, through training, that a sale shall not be made unless this evidence is produced. Prominent notices will be displayed in the store advising customers that they may be asked for evidence of age.
