ANNEX 2 - LICENSING OBJECTIVES
General Licensing Objectives
Club monitored by steward and bar staff (i.e. serving members only)
Club management steward, bar staff are informed of the Licensing Act 2003 objectives and statutory requirement to comply with all relevant provisions of the act.
Prevention of crime and disorder objectives.
Club constitution includes rules governing the conduct of members and their guests within and adjacent to club premises. Admission to the club is confined to members and bona fide guests.Club employees are instructed not to admit or serve members and guests who behave in a drunk or disorderly fashion. Misconduct is reported to the committee to consider action under club`s disiplinary code.
Public Safety objectives
The club complies with Health and Safety and Fire precautions. Following risk assessment, prevenative and control measures are in place to ensure the safety of members and guests, employees and entertainers while on the premises. The club complies with capacity limits. Fire action notices are posted, emergency escape routes are signposted.
Prevention of public nuisance objectives
Signage is displayed near exits requesting members members and guests to respect the needs of local residents by quietly leaving the premises and car park. When live and recorded music is played all reasonable steps are taken to avoid disturbance to neighbouring properties.
Protection of children from harm objectives
Persons under the age of 18 are only allowed in the club if accompanied by a member. Young adults applying for a membershp must satisfy the committee that they are 18 or over. No child under the age of 14 is allowed in the club after 19.00 hours with the exception of the annual family BBQnight when younger children are allowed to attend under adult/paental supervision. Committee members, club steward and staff are instructed in the provisions of the licensing act 2003 relating to alcohol and the protection of children.
