ANNEX 2 - Licensing Objectives
General Licensing Objectives
The Clubhouse Bar Rules are included in the Club Constitution and includes no supply of alcohol to Under 18s. Only Alton Cricket Club Members and Guests are allowed in the Clubhouse. The Club operates a No Smoking policy within the Clubhouse and Pavilion. All Club Coaches and Captains have been CRB checked while the rest of the Club’s players, umpires and scorers have signed self-declaration forms as part of the Club’s application for the ECB'S Clubmark accreditation.
Prevention of crime and disorder objectives
No sale of alcohol to under 18`s and to persons who are drunk. Admission only for Club Members and signed in Guests. Disciplinary procedures exist for any misbehaviour.
Public safety objectives
Adequate number of fire escapes and fire extinguishers in position in the Clubhouse and Pavilion. Changes underway to improve access to the Clubhouse and Pavilion for wheelchair users. The club hosts representative (county and regional) disabled cricket matches.
Prevention of public nuisance objectives
The club is sited on a sports field with only a few neighbouring houses none of which are within 100 metres of the Clubhouse. Members and Guests are requested to keep noise levels down when leaving late at night. When music is played the level of noise outside will be checked periodically by Committee Member and the volume reduced and / or windows and doors closed as required.
Protection of children from harm objectives
The Club has a thriving Colts section with teams at U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17s and have a Colts Committee whose Chairman and Club Welfare Officer sit on the main Club Committee. The Club has successfully applied for the ECB`s Clubmark Accreditation Scheme that espouses safe, effective child-friendly club administration. As part of the accreditation process all coaches and captains have to be CRB checked while other senior members (players, umpires and scorers) have to sign self -declaration. The Clubhouse and Pavilion are No Smoking buildings. Alcohol will not be sold to U18's and any showing of films and or entertainments will be restricted to the appropriate age ranges.
