ANNEX 2 - LICENSING OBJECTIVES
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
Persons attempting to purchase alcohol must be over 18 and must produce evidence of age as requested. Alcohol will not be sold to groups of people or who appear to be part of a group. Children will not be sold alcohol even if stated for an adult. Persons under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused.
THE PREVENTION OF CRIME AND DISORDER OBJECTIVES
Alcohol will not be sold to a person who appears to be under the age of 18 or to a person who is with a group of people who are or appear to be under licensable age.
Alcohol will not be sold to a person who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
PUBLIC SAFETY OBJECTIVES
If a person attempting to buy alcohol appears to be under licensable age, evidence of age will be required in the form of an officially acceptable form, e.g. PASS verification. If there is any doubt sale will be refused.
THE PREVENTION OF PUBLIC NUISANCE OBJECTIVES
So-called alco-pops will not be sold, only organic wine and beer in bottles. Spirits will be sold, again organic origin only, in very small quantities and mostly to special order.
THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN FROM HARM OBJECTIVES
Under no circumstances will alcohol be sold to children or a person who appears to be under the age of 18, to a person who may give alcohol to children. Local and personal knowledge will be used.
