Annex - 3 Licensing Objectives
General Licensing Objectives
The Trustees of Beech Village Hall will co-operate with the Licensing Authority and other responsible authorities to achieve the Licensing objectives.
Consideration of our performance in achieving the licensing objectives will become a regular item on the agenda for the Management Committee's quarterly meetings
Prevention of Crime and Disorder Objectives
The Trustees will encourage the training of suitable persons to become PL holders, and at an early stage appoint a DPS from the ranks of the management committee, though a local publican will act as DPS for the time being.
The Trustees will sign up to the code of good practice under the government's alcohol harm reduction strategy.
The Trustees will avoid discounting drinks prices and will remain vigilant to ensure illegal drugs are not consumed on the premises.
Public Safety Objectives
The trustees will commit themselves to ensuring public safety to protect customers and our neighbours along with other members of the public.
The trustees carry significant public liability insurance
Fire safety and electrical safety certificates will be renewed at the proper intervals
Our boiler will be regularly serviced.
Public Nuisance Objectives
The trustees will set out to limit noise nuisance. Currently we are seeking to build a new hall which should enable much more effective containment of noise within an old building, thus enabling the hall to become a better neighbour.
Rules for private parties are already in place to limit nuisance to neighbours.
Protection of Children from Harm Objectives
The trustees wish to encourage a family atmosphere within the sole building used for community purposes within the village
However, we recognise that children are particularly venerable and would bar their entrance to the village hall while the bar is open except during the annual village fete and hogroast. (e.g. to view entertainment suitable for children such as magicians etc)
