Annex 2 - Licensing Objectives
General Licensing Objectives
The hall is run by a Management Committee. Over the years there have been no significant issues concerning any of the licensing objectives. The committee, however, is not complacent about these matters and a set of booking conditions is in force with a system of deposits to help check that hirers act responsible and safely. The committee also reserves the right to refuse hires where it deems the proposed activity is unsuitable.
Prevention of Crime and Disorder Objectives
A deposit is required which is held against extra expense or problems which may arise from a booking. This deposit is increased when the proposed activity is a disco, dance or involves the sale of alcohol.
Public Safety Objectives
Safety systems in the hall (emergency exits, lighting and fire extinguishers) are checked according to a schedule.
Prevention of Public Nuisance Objectives
Hirers are reminded to keep noise levels down outside the hall and to depart quietly after late night events.
Protection of Children from Harm Objectives
Minors are not permitted to hire the hall in their own right and need to be supervised by parents or other responsible adults.
If any entertainment is age restricted e.g. films, the admission is always by ticket only and proof of age will be sought if necessary.
