General Licensing Objectives
Strong management controls and effective training of all staff so that they are aware of the licensing objectives and in particular ensure:-no underage drinking, drunkenness on the premises or in public, use of drugs, violent or anti-social behaviour and at all times protect children from harm. The types of regulated entertainment proposed re-instate the normal pub entertainment previously unregulated. No new steps have been identified as necessary. The DPS is a member of Alton Pub watch.
Prevention of Crime and Disorder Objectives
Responsible management of the premises with the help of Merlin Inns management team training and supervision of all staff. Provide a 30 minute extension of opening hours after the sale of alcohol ends to promote this objective. The last drink will be consumed less quickly with access to the pubs toilet facilities. Not less than 5 working days written notice will be given to Police when 'Event Days' are planned.
Public Safety Objectives
Formal annual fire risk, health and safety and food assessments combined to ongoing checks and staff awareness training.
Prevention of Public Nuisance Objectives
Responsible management at all times. Training and supervision to prevent incidents of public nuisance. Regular visits to all parts of the premises. Adoption of best practises e.g control of noise from pubs. Live music will end at 00.00 and all windows and doors will be closed after 23.00. Collection and management of litter and effective ventilation systems to prevent nuisance from odour.
Protection of Children from Harm
No unusual risks of harm to children have been identified. Children only allowed on premises until 21.00 unless eating in dining area then until 22.30. All persons under 18 years of age must be fully supervised by an adult. Staff are trained to accept only photo I.D as part of house proof of age scheme.
