ANNEX 3 - LICENSING OBJECTIVES
GENERAL LICENSING OBJECTIVES
Staff are fully trained and aware of licensing issues. The licensees have been licensees for 34 years and 16 years respectively.
THE PREVENTION OF CRIME AND DISORDER OBJECTIVES
The licensees follow a stringent policy to prevent crime and disorder and take all steps to prevent such. Staff are fully aware that customers who are intoxicated will not be served together with customers who conduct themselves inappropriately. As members of the LVA we are supportive of the policy to exclude customers who have been excluded elsewhere. We also have a discipline policy and exclude customers if necessary. The premises are monitored by CCTV at all times. The premises are used by local families and businesses. Ant persons who appear under the age of 18 and who cannot provide a photo I.D e.g. passport or driving licence will not be served.
PUBLIC SAFETY OBJECTIVES
The premises has smoke detectors and fire alarms fitted. The results are recorded. There are CCTV cameras inside and outside which are monitored. Electrical sockets have child proof covers. There are speed ramps to slow down vehicle movements in the car park. The inside and outside is clearly lit and accessible. Carpets and curtains are fire retardant.
THE PREVENTION OF PUBLIC NUISANCE OBJECTIVES
Music and entertainment takes place indoors only. The premises is situated off the main road and is secluded by woodland from any housing. Provision is made for customers to eat and drink in the beer garden which is located at the rear of the premises to prevent nuisance. The premises have operated without complaint. The premises is accessed by a long driveway which abuts Lindford Road. The level of noise by customers departing is no greater than the normal thoroughfare of traffic on any night. The property has enclosed parking to prevent parking on Lindford Road. The premises are monitored to ensure all customers vacate the area upon closing. All external doors and windows will be kept closed, other than for access and egress in all rooms when events involving amplified music or speech are taking place. No music or speech will be relayed via external speakers other than for events with the prior approval of the licensing authority. Noise from music and voices emanating from the premises between 2300-0900 will be inaudible at the boundary of the nearest residential premises. No fireworks or other pyrotechnics will be used other than with the prior consent of the licensing authority. Disposal of waste bottles into external receptacles where the noise will be audible to neighbouring properties will not occur between 2230 and 0730. Waste collection contractors will not collect refuse between 2230 and 0730. Staff will be given training to prevent them causing unnecessary noise when they leave the premises and prominent, clear notices displayed at all points where staff leave the building must instruct them to respect the needs of the local residents and leave the premises and the area quietly. Patrons will not use the beer garden after 2300 hours.
THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN FROM HARM OBJECTIVES
The premises operates a policy to ensure children are protected from harm. Children are permitted in the premises or beer garden unless accompanied by a responsible adult. Staff are trained to monitor this and take appropriate steps. Children are prevented from being near the bar serving area and any person appearing under 18 will not be served without a legitimate photo I.D. Notices are displayed. Children's non-alcoholic drinks are stocked for parents to purchase.
Gaming machines are located by the bar serving area and have notices stating not to be played by anyone under 18. They area monitored by staff. There is no entertainment of an adult nature. Children are excluded during darts matches.
