ANNEX 2 - LICENSING OBJECTIVES
GENERAL LICENSING OBJECTIVES
Alton Rugby Football Club is set up for the playing and promotion of rugby. It provides a social environment for members and their families to enjoy meeting together to play rugby, watch rugby and socialise. This is a family orientated club with a large mini and junior section for those under 18 to enjoy rugby - the social side is also emphasised with this age.
THE PREVENTION OF CRIME AND DISORDER OBJECTIVES
The club is run by volunteers and members. All have a vested interest in their club and 'self-police' with no toleration for anti-social behaviour or disorder in the club or the vicinity. Majority of people using are members and known by other members. We comply with Licensing Law and will not serve drunks or those under 18. Half an hour 'wind down' time included.
PUBLIC SAFETY OBJECTIVES
We have public liability insurance that covers spectators of our games. All players are covered by RFU insurance. Large rugby events have stewards and marshals provided by the club. Glasses are not allowed onto the pitches - only plastic containers are given to spectators who go onto the pitches.
THE PREVENTION OF PUBLIC NUISANCE OBJECTIVES
The club house is not near any private dwellings, any noise issues are therefore minimal. We clear up the area immediately outside the club - keeping it clear of mud and litter. Committee members monitor noise levels at functions to ensure it will not disturb people.
THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN FROM HARM OBJECTIVES
All our children's coaches are CRB checked and there is a nominated child protection officer in the club. The aim is on a family club with a safe environment.
Bar staff do not serve those under 18 and due to it being a members club know most of the members and their ages. If need be, identification is asked for. Committee members also check this.
