ANNEX 2 - LICENSING OBJECTIVES
GENERAL LICENSING OBJECTIVES
The Alton Maltings Centre seeks to be a good neighbour and to provide a quality service to the local community.
THE PREVENTION OF CRIME AND DISORDER OBJECTIVES
All event organisers are required to specify in advance the format of their event, and the necessary security measure they have put in place.
We have a receptionist on duty 9am to 5pm Monday - Friday, and monitor access to the building at other times through volunteers or event organisers.
Our car park is locked at night to prevent unauthorised parking.
The building is always opened and closed by one of a small number of designated key holders.
PUBLIC SAFETY OBJECTIVES
As a new building the Centre complies with all current health and safety legislation.
The Grain House Trust has a documented health and safety policy. We have fire extinguishers positioned in a variety of signed locations throughout the building, and emergency exit signs visible through the building. The main entrance is lockable; all other exits (two upstairs, four downstairs) are fire exit doors which can be used at all times.
All event organisers are required to specify in advance the format of their event, and the necessary safety measure they have put in place.
THE PREVENTION OF PUBLIC NUISANCE OBJECTIVES
All event organisers are required to specify in advance the format of their event, and the necessary measures they have put in place to manage their event.
We liaise with our local neighbours on Maltings Close and advise them of our general activities; we also seek feedback from them.
THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN FROM HARM OBJECTIVES
The Grain House Trust has a child protection policy and process. We regard this in an area of particularly high importance and take steps to ensure that children are protected at all times. When childrens' activities which are organised by the Trust take place they do so within a designated area, and organisers are responsible for controlling access to that area.
