ANNEX 2 - LICENSING OBJECTIVES
General Licensing Objectives
Staff will be trained in the main 4 objectives of the Licensing Act and a strict rule will be enforced that no sale of alcohol will be allowed without suitable evidence of age to ensure no sales take place to those under 18 or sale to those who are obviously drunk or acting in a disorderly manner.
Prevention of Crime and Disorder Objectives
Spirits will be kept behind the secure Post Office counter area. Wines and beers will be displayed within full view of the counter passed which all customers have to pass in order to exit the shop. No drinking or eating will be taking place on the premises and the shop will be closed early evening. This coupled with staff training should eliminate any crime, noise or nuisance. In the event of problems we would contact the police.
Public Safety Objectives
The shop is being refurbished with disability/wide access and semi automatic door opening. The Post Office is installing security measures which enable the doors to be locked instantly in the event of any problems.
Prevention of Public Nuisance Objectives
The premises will not be used for public entertainment/eating or drinking and will close early evening and thereby eliminating any problem from adverse public nuisance or inconvenience to the local community.
Protection of Children from Harm Objectives
Staff will be trained in order to ensure that no alcohol is sold to those under 18. The shop has been designed so that all vulnerable stock is in view of the counter which customers have to pass in order to exit shop. Children are only allowed in limited numbers unless accompanied by an adult in order to prevent shoplifting.
